Balochistan [Pakistan] August 10 (ANI): Security-related incidents were reported from multiple districts of Balochistan on Friday, including an explosion targeting a Pakistani military convoy in Kech, the reported blowing up of a bridge in Surab, and a drone attack on a military camp in Noshki.
According to a report by The Balochistan Post (TBP), a powerful blast took place in the Redig area of Mand in Kech district. Witnesses said heavy gunfire was heard shortly after the explosion.
The blast reportedly targeted a vehicle travelling with a Pakistani military convoy, which was said to have been destroyed in the attack. Unverified reports also indicated that there could have been casualties. However, there has been no official confirmation of any deaths or injuries, while the exact extent of the damage remains unclear, TBP reported.
In another incident, a bridge on the Quetta-Karachi Highway in the Mal Shahorai area of Surab was reportedly damaged following a powerful explosion. The blast caused substantial damage to the bridge and could potentially disrupt traffic on the highway. At the time of reporting, authorities had not issued an official assessment regarding the extent of the damage.
Meanwhile, reports from the Sultan Charahi area of Noshki claimed that a drone strike had targeted a camp being used by Pakistani forces. The attack was reportedly believed to have caused casualties, although no official statement had been issued by authorities. As per the latest reports, no group had claimed responsibility for the alleged drone attack, as cited by TBP.
The incidents have occurred amid growing security concerns in Balochistan, where attacks against Pakistani security forces, police personnel and key transport infrastructure have been reported in recent months.
According to open-source data compiled by the South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP), Balochistan recorded 176 security-related incidents in July 2026, with 438 deaths reportedly resulting from these incidents, including 127 members of Pakistan’s security forces.
The data further shows that from January through July 2026, Balochistan witnessed 765 reported security-related incidents and around 1,600 fatalities. The reported attacks during this period included suicide bombings, ambushes, coordinated attacks across multiple locations, strikes against infrastructure and the use of drones, as reported by TBP.
