Farmington Hills, Michigan — July 19, 2026 — The APUSA Michigan Chapter hosted its Second Annual Michigan Chapter Golf Classic, bringing together community leaders, supporters, golfers, and philanthropists for a day of fellowship and purpose. Building on the momentum of the chapter’s highly successful musical fundraiser earlier this year, the Golf Classic marked another milestone in the chapter’s growing commitment to fighting child hunger.

Held at Farmington Hills Golf Course, the event united participants around a shared mission: ensuring that children receive nutritious school meals through Akshaya Patra’s Mid-Day Meal Program in India.
The tournament welcomed golfers of all skill levels, while supporters who attended the luncheon, awards ceremony, and raffle also contributed to the cause. Every registration and sponsorship helped advance the organization’s mission of feeding children and supporting education by reducing classroom hunger.
Addressing attendees during the luncheon, Michigan Chapter Chair Sampat Prahlad expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the event possible.
“This event is a testament to what a caring community can accomplish when we come together for a meaningful cause. I sincerely thank our sponsors, volunteers, golfers, donors, and every supporter who joined us today.
Prahlad also acknowledged the dedication of the organizing committee, volunteers, and sponsors whose collective efforts made the Golf Classic another outstanding success.
As the chapter’s second consecutive annual Golf Classic, the event demonstrated the Michigan Chapter’s continued growth and commitment to community engagement. Coming on the heels of the chapter’s successful musical fundraiser, the Golf Classic further reinforced the chapter’s dedication to creating impactful opportunities for supporters to contribute to Akshaya Patra’s mission.
The Michigan Chapter extended its appreciation to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners for making this year’s Golf Classic a tremendous success. Their generosity and enthusiasm will help provide hope, nourishment, and brighter futures for millions of children through the gift of daily school meals, organizers said.
