
The United Senior Pariwar (USP), Chicago celebrated a Mother’s Day with a Health Awareness Seminar, May 9, 2025, Health Awareness Seminar at the Swaminarayan Mandir in Wheeling, Illinois. An estimated 325 seniors attended.
The event began with prayers led by Jyotsana Chokshi, followed by the traditional Deep Pragtya (lamp lighting) ceremony performed by Keynote Speaker Dr. Parag Doshi (Cardiologist), Satish Patel (Advisor & CPA), Ramesh Chokshi (President), Bhanu Vyas (Secretary), and Kirit Pandya (Treasurer).
Wishing all those present a Happy Mother’s Day, Secretary Vyas provided an overview of the event’s agenda.
President Chokshi and Ex-President Virendra Patel welcomed Dr. Doshi with bouquets. Dr. Doshi conducted an engaging and informative session focused on heart health. His presentation covered vital topics including heart anatomy, artery function, cholesterol management, valve operations, stent and bypass procedures, dietary guidelines, exercise routines, and lifestyle modifications crucial for cardiac wellness.

Dr. Doshi also held an interactive Q&A session, patiently answering members’ health-related questions with clarity and compassion.

The program continued with Vice President Rohit Joshi delivering a vote of thanks, acknowledging Dr. Doshi and all contributors. A special birthday celebration followed for USP members born in the month of May, where celebrants were honored with boxes of sweets.
Entertainment included an energetic Antakshari competition, organized by Neha Shah and her team: Smita Sutaria, Varsha Zaveri, Pravin Gandhi, and Kishor Dave. Winners received prizes for their performances. Lunch was served to attendees.
To further support member services, J.K. Trivedi took passport-size photos for USP ID cards. Treasurer Pandya announced the names of birthday event donors.
