Patna (Bihar) [India], October 23 (ANI): Critising the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for not putting the photo of all Mahagathbandhan leaders on campaign posters, the Janata Dal (United) leader Neeraj Kumar on Thursday asserted that the face of Leader of Opposition would have looked “even more handsome if he had written ‘420’ on the photo”.
The JD(U) chief Spokesperson accused the Mahagathbandhan of corruption in seat sharing, stating that there are 243 Assembly seats and the opposition alliance has fielded a total of 255 candidates.
“There are 243 Assembly seats, and Mahagathbandhan has fielded a total of 255 candidates. This is the mathematics of the corrupt. Only Tejashwi Yadav’s photo? Where is Rahul Gandhi? Why is there no photo of Mukesh Sahani? Is it a crime to be backward? Dipankar Bhattacharya, D Raja, and CPI(M) leaders have written tales of mass movements…Had you written ‘420’ on the photo, his face would have looked even more handsome,” Kumar said.
Addressing the press conference in Patna, Kumar criticised Tejashwi Yadav and said, “How could Yadav say he would take back Rs 10,000 given to a Jeevika Mitra? The Rs 2 lakh is released after assessing the business of Jeevika Didis.”
He accused the Yadav family of undermining women’s empowerment and alleged that Lalu Yadav has a “traditional stealing streak”.
Kumar further targeted Tejashwi Yadav, saying, “Raghopur is young Yadav’s constituency. He asked his father how many women were supported by self-help groups during his father’s tenure. Young Tejashwi Yadav lacks information. When it comes to copycats, his son must be ‘Sakit Bolt’.”
Kumar lauded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the Jeevika didi schemes in promoting women’s empowerment.
Addressing a press conference, Kumar highlighted the Golden Jubilee Swaraj Yojana Gram Bhandar inauguration and clarified that funds distributed to Jeevika sisters under the scheme will not be withdrawn.
“Women who join the Jeevika group will initially receive Rs 10,000, followed by an additional Rs 2 lakh for business development. Young Yadavs know what they say about Jeevika didi schemes,” he said.
Highlighting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s role, Kumar said, “Bihar has 243 assembly constituencies and 255 electorate constituencies. Nitish Kumar is a role model for women’s empowerment. Now, Bihar has changed under his leadership.”
Kumar noted that the Jeevika scheme, launched by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in 2006, currently has 14 million active participants in the state of Bihar.
The Mahagathbandhan, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), comprises the Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Dipankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
