
New Jersey, USA: The Yaman Arts Foundation recently hosted an enriching two-day tabla workshop featuring the world-renowned percussionist and Padma Shri awardee, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri. The event drew students and music enthusiasts from across the U.S., eager to learn from one of the living legends of Indian classical music.
Under Pandit Chaudhuri’s expert guidance, participants received personalized instruction covering the foundations of tabla playing, including basic compositions, theoretical concepts, and the historical evolution of the instrument. The maestro’s engaging teaching style and deep knowledge made the sessions both educational and inspiring.

The workshop was organized by Aditya Narayan Banerjee, a senior disciple of Pandit Chaudhuri and director of the Yaman Arts Foundation. The maestro expressed his heartfelt blessings to Banerjee for his dedication to promoting Indian classical arts in the U.S. and praised the foundation’s ongoing work in nurturing musical talent.
Pandit Chaudhuri also encouraged students to continue their musical journey with devotion and discipline, expressing his desire to return for future workshops and performances.
