Plainsboro, NJ – August 16, 2025: On the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, Jhilmil-USA, an organization that has been promoting Indian art, culture, and literature in the United States for over two decades, hosted a unique lecture titled “Krishnaarpitayen” – a dedication to Lord Krishna. The program was held at the residence of Rajni and Anoop Bhargava in Plainsboro, NJ, and drew a warm and engaged gathering of community members.
The event featured two distinguished speakers from Indore, India — Dr. Madhavi Patel, an ENT surgeon and scholar of Indian scriptures, and Mrs. Ratna Bochare, Chief Town Planner at Indore Development Corporation and a noted authority on the Ramayan and Mahabharat. Both have earned acclaim in India and abroad for their captivating presentations on ancient epics, bringing their stories alive with wisdom and charm.
On this evening, they explored the theme of “Krishnaarpitayen”, focusing on individuals and symbols through whom Lord Krishna revealed his divine powers and teachings. Narratives of the River Yamuna, the Gopikas, the flute, Draupadi, Mother Yashoda, Kunti, and Radha were woven together with deep spiritual insights. The speakers emphasized the philosophy that true joy lies not in possession but in the realization of belongingness — expressed through the Sanskrit phrase “Twam Mamev, Aham Twamev” (You are mine, and I am forever yours).

The interactive session allowed the audience to participate, ask questions, and reflect on Krishna’s life and teachings. Adding a poetic dimension, host Anoop Bhargava recited a poem from Dharamvir Bharti’s celebrated work “Kanupriya”, while Nandini Rai shared her own self-composed poem inspired by Krishna’s message.
The evening concluded with tea and snacks, leaving attendees spiritually enriched and fulfilled. The program was another testament to Jhilmil-USA’s mission of fostering cultural connections and bringing the essence of Indian traditions to the diaspora community in America.
