Prominent Indian and Nepalese leaders joined hands recently to launch the Indo-Nepal Youth Association of North America (INYANA).
The founder of INYANA Nishant Garg, invited Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh to perform the founding ribbon-cutting ceremony, a press release from the organization said.
The event took place in Forest Hills, NY, August 23, 2025, marking what organizers called a ‘history” making, “cross-cultural” collaboration for youth empowerment in a bid to unite and uplift Indian and Nepalese youth across the continent.
Besides Nishant Garg, INYANA’s Board includes Pradip Shrestha, president of the Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce, Deepak Shrestha, Shailendra Shrestha, and Lakpa Wanomo Tamang.

Chugh commended the INYANA initiative as a “powerful platform to build bridges and strengthen the Indo-Nepal voice in the diaspora.” The initiative symbolizes India’s growing influence and underscores their pivotal role in the nation’s transformative journey, Chug added. Amit Taneja, a BJP leader from Punjab, accompanied Chugh.
Garg, a successful entrepreneur, recent appointee to the CTIA (RLSQ) Leadership Council, and founder of the Telecom Institute of New York (T.I.N.Y.) and Delta Enterprise USA, in his address at the launch, said, “INYANA is more than an organization, it’s a movement. A movement to inspire, uplift, and unite Indo-Nepal youth to be proud of who they are and to lead with purpose on the global stage.”
“INYANA has been established to empower the next generation of Indian and Nepalese youth across the US and Canada through cultural celebration, leadership development, mentorship, and collaborative community service,” the press release said. “
INYANA will serve as a vehicle for positive transformation by
- Promoting Unity: Strengthening ties between Indian and Nepalese youth through collaborative cultural, educational, and social initiatives.
● Celebrating Culture: Hosting festivals, artistic showcases, and heritage events that amplify Indo-Nepal traditions.
● Recognizing Excellence: Honoring achievements in academics, expression of the arts, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.
● Empowering Youth: Offering mentorship, scholarships, and resources to support students, differently-abled youth, and young professionals.
● Advancing Representation: Elevating Indo-Nepal voices across education, politics, business, and civic life.
INYANA’s next phase of development includes:
- Establishing local chapters in universities and major cities
● Partnering with U.S. authorities to formalize its nonprofit structure
● Launching national programs in mentorship, entrepreneurship, and leadership
● Facilitating networking between Indo-Nepal professionals and students
● Creating platforms for youth to engage in service, storytelling, and advocacy.
The new organization sent out an appeal for people to join. “Whether you are a student, entrepreneur, artist, educator, or simply someone who believes in unity and empowerment, INYANA welcomes all to become part of this growing family,” it said.
