South Brunswick, NJ – September 8, 2025 — The Health Camp of New Jersey (HCNJ) held its annual Health Fair at Durga Mandir in South Brunswick Township, delivering vital preventive healthcare services to community members. The event drew strong participation and offered a wide range of screenings, counseling, and wellness education, helping improve access to healthcare while raising awareness about preventive practices among underserved populations.
HCNJ, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been serving the South Asian community through health fairs since 1999, with a focus on individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. This year’s fair featured blood tests, EKGs, vision screenings for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, physical exams, cardiology, endocrine and neurology evaluations, mental health services, pharmacy and physical therapy consultations, influenza vaccinations, and alternative medicine assessments. Attendees also received counseling on chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and mental health disorders.

Medical professionals across multiple specialties, including internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, and mental health, volunteered their time to provide personalized care. Additional support was provided by Legacy Pharmacy Group, SSAI, Marlboro Medical Arts Pharmacy, Rutgers-SATHI, Stroke Prevention and Education, CPR – Hands On, NJ CEED, Penn Medicine Princeton, LabCorp, and SAMHIN. Volunteer groups such as the Rotary Club of Plainsboro-North and South Brunswick (RCOP), its youth interactive club, and the NJ Youth Artists Leo Club also played an essential role. Rotary District 7475 Governor Raymond F. Freaney, Jr. and DGND Kalpana Patel attended the fair to extend their support for HCNJ’s commitment to healthier communities.
HCNJ extended heartfelt appreciation to the Durga Mandir Management Committee, which has hosted and supported the health camp for over 15 years, as well as to the many selfless volunteers whose dedication made the event possible. Media partners including Radio Zindagi, The Indian Eye, Gujarat Darpan, ITV Gold, Parikh Worldwide Media, Hi India, TV Asia, The Indian Panorama, The India Observer, India Abroad, and Akila News were also recognized for their continued support in promoting the fair.
“Together, we proved once again that when a community comes together with Seva Bhav (spirit of service), we can make a lasting difference in people’s lives,” said Dr. Tushar Patel, President of HCNJ.

HCNJ announced that its next health fair will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in Parsippany, NJ. Registration will remain open until October 7, 2025, through the organization’s website at www.IHCNJ.org.
Founded in 1999, HCNJ has screened more than 13,500 individuals and identified thousands of health concerns, delivering critical preventive care and education. As it celebrates its 25th anniversary, the organization plans to launch a Community Health Center in New Jersey by 2026 to provide year-round follow-up services.
