Carpentersville, IL – The vibrant spirit of devotion and community unity illuminated Carpenter Park as thousands gathered for the 3rd Annual Guru Purnima Mela hosted by I Love Sai Global on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Under the guiding presence of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, the day was celebrated with the theme “Tvameva Sarvam Mama Deva Deva” — You are everything, my God of Gods — echoing the essence of surrender, faith, and unity.

Observed on the full moon day in the month of Ashadha, Guru Purnima is a sacred tradition that honors the guru — the divine guide who dispels darkness and brings light. For devotees of Shri Sai Baba, this day holds profound significance as a time to reaffirm their commitment to Shraddha (faith) and Saburi (patience) on their spiritual path.
Organized by I Love Sai Global, an organization with active chapters in India, the U.S., and the U.K., and headquartered in Carpentersville, Illinois, the mela welcomed participants from all walks of life, living up to Sai Baba’s message of inclusivity, love, and service beyond boundaries.
One of the most awaited moments of the day was the Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Chariot Yatra, where a beautifully adorned chariot carried Baba’s murti through the park. Devotees showered flower petals and chanted bhajans as traditional dhol-tasha players set a powerful rhythm. The parade was a dazzling display of unity, color, and devotion.
The celebrations continued with Bhajan Sandhya, where talented musicians performed devotional songs, immersing the audience in spiritual fervor. Dynamic dance performances, ranging from classical Bharatanatyam to vibrant folk and fusion acts, added cultural brilliance to the event.

As evening approached, the community came together for the soulful Dhoop Aarti, offering heartfelt prayers under the warm glow of oil lamps. Attendees enjoyed a Preeti Bhojan (community meal) served with love and explored a bustling food and vendor bazaar, featuring handmade crafts, traditional snacks, and sweets. Children participated in joyful games, face painting, and the ever-popular Dahi Handi, adding playfulness to the occasion.
Behind the scenes, the Mela’s success was made possible by dedicated volunteers of I Love Sai Global, who ensured smooth coordination, cleanliness, and hospitality, creating a welcoming and safe environment for all attendees.
The event underscored the values of unity through Seva (selfless service) and Satsang (spiritual company), with families and friends coming together to celebrate shared cultural and spiritual roots.
In today’s world that deeply yearns for connection and compassion, Guru Purnima Mela 2025 stood as a glowing reminder of the power of community, tradition, and faith. Participants left uplifted, inspired by the teachings of Sai Baba, and embraced by the warmth of spiritual kinship.
