Guwahati (Assam) [India], January 9 (ANI): All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA Rafiqul Islam on Friday slammed the BJP for the recent ED raid on the I-PAC office in Kolkata. He accused the BJP of misusing agencies such as ED, CBI before the upcoming Assembly Elections in West Bengal.
“We got to know through the news about the raid. Look, it has become a common practice for the BJP to misuse ED, CBI and other agencies. Everybody knows that.”, he claimed.
Referring to the ED raid on the I-PAC office, he stated that such raids could become common as the West Bengal Elections approach.
“They would also trouble people from the Trinamool Government. That’s because BJP has not won in West Bengal; they are unable to stand here, even though they are trying a lot”, he said.
Highlighting the influence of CM Mamata Banerjee, he said, “Didi’s grip is still strong, which is why they have been making use of ED, CBI and don’t know agencies.”
He shared his opinion on the upcoming elections, saying, “I think that PM Modi and HM Minister Amit Shah will not be able to succeed in West Bengal since the Didi (Mamata Banerjee) grip is too strong.”
“What is the strategy of the other party? We don’t even try to know. We do our own party’s strategy. And, the strategy is not told outside. The meaning of strategy is that it is planned and programmed inside the party.”, he said when asked about the BJP’s election strategy.
However, he mentioned SIR (Special Intensive Revision) as the BJP’s biggest strategy, through which he claimed they would manipulate voters.
“I think the strategy of BJP, which we can see, in many states, the work of SIR is the biggest strategy of BGP through which 10,000-15,000 genuine Indian citizens would be removed, and tourist voters from Gujarat, Haryana, Delhi would be placed there”, he claimed.
Along with that, he shared that the All India United Democratic Front leader and Chief Whip had penned an appeal letter to Congress leaders to support Badruddin Ajmal as a common candidate of opposition parties in Assam for the Rajya Sabha Elections. (ANI)
