Saran (Bihar) [India], October 17 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday came down heavily on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for fielding the son of late Shahabuddin, a convicted criminal, in the Bihar assembly elections.
Addressing a public rally in Saran, Shah exhorted that the couplet of Modi-Nitish needs to be brought back to power to keep Bihar safe.
Shah said, “I have seen RJD – Rashtriya Janata Dal’s candidates ‘ list, and it contains the name of Shahabuddin’s son. Can Bihar remain safe if RJD gives the election ticket to Shahabuddin’s son? If we have to keep Bihar safe, we need to bring back the jodi of Modi-Nitish.”
The RJD has fielded Shahabuddin’s son, Osama Shahab, from the Raghunathpur assembly constituency of Siwan for the upcoming polls.
He further stated that the NDA is fighting elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“In Bihar, we are fighting elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the country,” Amit Shah asserted.
Home Minister further said that this time the people of Bihar will celebrate four Diwalis. “This time the people of Bihar are getting a chance to celebrate four Diwalis…The first Diwali will be celebrated on the day to mark the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya. The second Diwali was celebrated when Rs 10,000 was deposited in the accounts of women under the government scheme. The third Deepawali was celebrated when the GST rate on goods was reduced to 5%. The fourth Diwali will be celebrated on 14th November, on the day of the vote count,” he conveyed.
Shah also highlighted the works done by the NDA government in Bihar, saying, “PM Modi did a lot of work for Bihar… The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government has given free electricity to 1.67 crore families. The NDA government increased pensions for the elderly, widows, and the physically disabled by three times… All these development is done by Modi ji and Nitish ji. Before our government, the industry of murder and kidnapping was being operated in Saran. But now, the NDA government has made multiple engineering and medical colleges and infrastructure here.”
