
Carol Stream, IL, September 14 – The BSC of Chicago brought together more than 500 senior citizens, writers, artists, and dignitaries at the Rana Regan Center to celebrate Gujarati literature and culture in the diaspora. The event, held at 11 a.m. and again at 5 p.m., was marked by warmth, creativity, and nostalgia.
The gathering opened with a heartfelt welcome from the president of BSC, setting the tone for a day filled with laughter and reflection. Renowned poet Raeesh Maniar captivated the audience with humor and thoughtful verses, including his memorable recitation “Reunion with Jalpadi.”

The program also featured vibrant performances of Mahol Musayrao by Asharaf Dabawala and Madhumati Mehta, with contributions from respected literary voices such as Anil Chavda.
“This program is not just about literature—it’s about celebrating our roots, building bridges across generations, and keeping Gujarati alive in our hearts,” said Raeesh Maniar, underscoring the cultural significance of the event.
