The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Bartlett, Illinois celebrated Diwali October 21, 2025, weaving together the threads of faith, tradition, and unity.
Weeks before the event, volunteers of all ages came together to prepare the Mandir and its surroundings. The temple grounds were decorated with intricate rangoli designs, and displays of glowing diyas.

A highlight of the celebration was the grand Annakut, or “mountain of food,” consisting of hundreds of vegetarian dishes lovingly prepared by devotees. These offerings, arranged beautifully before the Deities, symbolized gratitude, abundance, and devotion, while reflecting the community’s dedication and collective spirit.
It was a celebration for all ages. Along with sacred rituals, there were interactive exhibits, cultural displays, fireworks, and educational programs designed to share the meaning and values of Diwali.
“I was so honored to visit BAPS Chicago for this year’s Diwali celebration,” shared Meghan Paulas of the American Constitution Society (ACS). “My fourth-grade son joined me and was amazed by the rangoli! The unity theme deeply resonated with us, and we’re inspired to carry that lesson forward at work and at home.”
From India, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj shared his Diwali blessings, urging all to let the light of unity illuminate their hearts and communities.
Candles and diyas shimmered throughout the temple complex.
