ASARP Delegation Represents Chicago’s South Asian Realtors® at NAR’s Annual Meetings in Houston

Houston, TX — In a landmark moment for Chicago’s South Asian real estate community, a distinguished delegation from the Association of South Asian Real Estate Professionals (ASARP) made a powerful impact at the 2025 National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Annual Meetings, held this year in Houston, Texas. With sweeping industry reforms, a newly unveiled Strategic Plan, and one of the strongest global turnouts in recent memory, the convention underscored NAR’s evolving role in shaping the future of real estate both in the U.S. and worldwide.

A Strong Chicago Delegation;Leading the team was Pradeep B. Shukla, NAR Director and committee member on Federal Taxation and Commercial Committees. Joining him were:Sunita Kakarlapudi, President, ASARP.Harsha Shukla, Senior ASARP Member.Mohan Kakarlapudi, Member.Nick Verma, Treasurer, ASARP,and the inclusion of young professional Ria Kakarlapudi symbolized NAR’s focus on youth leadership.

The ASARP delegation attended high-level committee briefings, MLS modernization panels, global advisory sessions, and policy discussions—ensuring that Chicago’s South Asian real estate professionals remained actively engaged in shaping national conversations.

The NAR Global Meetings drew more than 350 international delegates from over 70 countries, marking one of the largest global participations in recent years. India showcased a particularly strong delegation, representing NAR-India, major brokerages, and industry organizations seeking deeper collaborations with U.S. entities.

ASARP delegates met with Indian leaders to discuss:Adoption and expansion of MLS (Multiple Listing Service) frameworks in India,Cross-border commercial investment flows,Global certification programs like CIPS,Referral and co-brokerage opportunities between the U.S. and India,
