The Impact Fund, the affiliated PAC (Political Action Committee) of Indian American Impact, today released new polling August 12, 2025, showing Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi as the frontrunner in the Illinois U.S. Senate Democratic primary.
According to Impact Fund, Krishnamoorthi’s “decisive lead over his closest competitors” is a result of his “unmatched name recognition.”
The survey of likely Democratic primary voters found:
- Raja Krishnamoorthi is the most widely known candidate, with88% name recognition
- In a three-way matchup against Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton and Congresswoman Robin Kelly, Krishnamoorthi holds a 21-point lead(Krishnamoorthi 38%, Stratton 17%, Kelly 7%, Undecided 37%)
- When undecided voters are asked to choose in a three-way matchup, Krishnamoorthi breaks above 50% support—”cementing his majority backing among Democratic voters,” Impact Fund contends.
“From day one, Impact has believed in Raja’s leadership- we were amongst his first national supporters- and this poll shows Illinois voters share that confidence,” Executive Director of The Impact Fund Chintan Patel, is quoted saying in the press release. “Raja’s laser-sharp focus on protecting access to Social Security and Medicare, lowering health care costs, and tackling the rising cost of living is clearly resonating across the state.”
The polling company, Z to A Research, surveyed 615 likely 2026 Illinois Democratic primary voters from August 8-10th, 2025. The margin of error is ±3.952%.
Founded in 2016, The Impact Fund has endorsed and supported more than 200 candidates across the country, marshaling upwards of $20 million to candidates, the press release says.
Krishnamoorthi is campaigning around the state in what he has described as his “Summer Listening Tour,” with scheduled stops in different cities, including Springfield, Carbondale, East Alton, Mount Vernon, to name a few. All this while, monitoring what is happening on Capitol Hill and the White House, he has not shied away from criticizing the Trump administration on policies and strategies on both the domestic and international fronts.
