DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The soulful traditions of Punjabi and Sufi music came alive in Chicagoland as legendary Indian singer Hansraj Hans headlined a memorable “Sufi Sham” musical evening on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Ashyana Banquet Hall, 1620 75th Street, Downers Grove, Illinois.

Upon his arrival, Hansraj Hans was warmly welcomed by Happy Heer and Dr. Harjinder Khaira, reflecting the enthusiasm and respect of the Chicagoland community for the internationally acclaimed artist and his distinguished contribution to Indian music and culture.
The “Sufi Sham” program celebrated the rich musical heritage associated with Sufi poetry and Punjabi culture. Sufi music has long transcended linguistic, religious and geographic and generational boundaries through its universal themes of divine love, devotion, humanity, peace and spiritual connection.
