The Association of Indians in America (AIA) New Jersey Chapter will host a dual-theme event on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the APA Hotel Woodbridge and Conference Center– commemorating the upcoming 250th anniversary of American Independence while simultaneously launching a community initiative for Autism Awareness that organizers describe as ‘vital’.
As a 60-year-old institution and the oldest national association of its kind, AIA holds a unique place in American history. It was the first and only Indian American organization to officially celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial 50 years ago. To honor that legacy, the July 12 event will debut what organizers call a spectacular” presentation of the 1976 Philadelphia Bicentennial celebration. The showcase features archival footage of stellar performers and speakers, offering a look at the roots of the Indian diaspora’s civic pride.
“Looking forward to the nation’s Semiquincentennial, AIA is anchoring its modern mission in community health” by addressing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The event features two world-renowned medical and wellness experts to provide critical guidance for families navigating ASD.
Keynote Speaker Dr. Samuel S. Wang: A pioneering Princeton neuroscientist whose groundbreaking work on postnatal development and the cerebellum has reshaped global autism research. Dr. Wang also serves on the New Jersey Governor’s Council on Autism.
Speaker: Dr. Bimal Ramani: Amazon bestselling author of Be a Super Human and recipient of the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Education Excellence Award. Dr. Ramani will discuss integrating alternative wellness with conventional healthcare, focusing on non-pharmacological approaches.
