Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 12 (ANI): Legendary singer Asha Bhosle’s demise has left the nation in deep grief.
Bhosle passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 in Mumbai due to multi-organ failure. After learning about her death, respected dignitaries from several fields took to their respective social media handles and paid heartfelt tributes to India’s melody queen.
Politician and actor Hema Malini, in her post on Instagram, opened up about her emotional connection with “Asha Tai”. She also reflected on how Bhosle’s voice was instrumental in elevating her songs to widespread popularity.
“Asha Tai no more! I just can’t believe how some one so full of life, she who lent so much vivacity and character to her songs has left us grieving It is especially hard for me as I have an emotional connect with Asha ji – she has made many of my songs so popular with her unique voice and style. I had a very special relationship with both Lata ji and Asha ji who have contributed in no small measure to my rise in the film industry. It is a huge loss for Maharashtra and for the whole of India that can never be compensated or replaced ever,” Malini posted.
Songs such as ‘Bechara Dil Kya Kare’, ‘Dil Usse Do Jo Jaan De De’, and ‘O Sathi Chal’, picturised on Hema Malini, were sung by none other than Asha Bhosle.
Born in 1933, Asha Bhosle began her musical journey at a young age and rose to prominence in the 1950s. Over her career spanning decades, she recorded thousands of songs across multiple Indian languages, ranging from classical and ghazals to cabaret, pop, and folk.
