Elk Grove Village, IL – July 20, 2025 — The Kadva Patidar Samaj (KPS) Chicago celebrated health, community, and cultural unity with a double-header of vibrant events on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Busse Woods Forest Preserve in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
The day began with an energizing 5K Walkathon, organized by the KPS Youth Committee at Grove 5, which saw 45 enthusiastic youth participants come together to embrace wellness and camaraderie. The event kicked off at 8:30 a.m. and concluded successfully by 9:45 a.m. The first twenty-one runners were recognized with special prizes for their spirit and performance. The event not only fostered fitness among youth but also ignited excitement for even greater involvement in next year’s Walkathon — as participants and volunteers alike.

The Walkathon also received generous community support, with heartfelt contributions from KPS members and well-wishers, reinforcing the strength and unity of the Samaj.
Following the morning fitness celebration, KPS Chicago welcomed over 600 members, families, and friends to its Annual Picnic at Grove 6 of Busse Woods Forest Preserve. The full-day gathering offered a vibrant mix of traditional Gujarati food, games, and devotion, making it a much-anticipated highlight of the community calendar.
